The four day Master classes program aims at helping the oral & maxillofacial trainees who are due to appear for their MDS examination, by steering through a quick and comprehensive review of the MDS syllabus prescribed by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The objective is to enable them to take the theory, clinical and viva voce of the examination more confidently by giving an overview of the syllabus, structure, pattern, fundamental concepts and pit falls.
All the final and second year MDS students of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
This is a comprehensive course and an in depth teaching of the entire syllabus should not be expected. The participants are expected to have basic knowledge of all the topics included in the DCI prescribed syllabus. The course mainly aims at making the trainees understand efficient reading, and the objective is to teach concepts which are not directly covered in the prescribed textbooks. Current and evidence based concepts would be emphasized.
Each topic would broadly be covered as follows; books to read, facts and figures, fundamental concepts, applied concepts, surgical aspects, complications, relevant current literature and references.
Active participation of the trainees is expected. Equal emphasis would be given for didactics and discussion.
The participants can listen and meet the well experienced academic faculty from different institutions and gain knowledge from the interactive sessions. Other benefits like course material, List of books to read, Old Question papers, Viva-voce questions may be provided at the end of the programme.
New Introduction of Table discussions/ Small group discussions with limited members shall have individual attention by the faculty towards the participants, thereby, the trainee can clarify the doubts with no hesitation.
